Jennifer Hudson….Weight Watching

WOW. 80lbs lighter, Ms. Jennifer Hudson looks unbelievable. After revelaing her weight loss on an Oprah appearance, I was inspired. I gained 60lbs when I was pregnant with my daughter and so far I have only lost 20lbs of that.  My daughter is now 10 months old so I will think of Jennifer’s journey while I continue working on myself.  Personally I thought Jennifer was gorgeous before she lost the weight, but the clothes she has been rocking are PERFECT for her new body and she looks ecstatic to model them.  I love this story so much because it reminds me of my own weight loss struggles & accomplishments.  Jennifer Hudson puts such a “Smile” on the face of weight loss. She was able to shine beautifully when she was heavier and she still has the same warm, can-do attitude as a size 6.   Continue reading

Girls are Sports Fans too!

The Bears won the Superbowl in 1985 and I was 4 years old. My parents dressed me from head to toe in boys Chicago Bears clothes. I look back on the picture proudly because to this day the Bears are my all time favorite team; I just wish my outfit was more girly & cute.  For many years I bought boys/men’s sportswear to pay homage to my favorite teams.   Don’t get me wrong, there was a very small selection of women’s apparel, but it was slim pickings for sure.  In 2007 Alyssa Milano (yes, Samantha from “Who’s The Boss,”) debuted her Touch collection which includes every sports team you could think of from the NFL, MLB, NHL, NCAA & NBA!  Visit Fandalia to find your faves. It’s refreshing to see such diverse and trendy T’s, jackets, & tanks to represent your favorite sports team. Girls LOVE Sports too and now we can actually wear something fitting and flattering.

Pum Pum Cleanliness..

pin-up-cleaning1-204x300So we already went over pum pum maintenance back in February, sorry I left ya’ll hanging this long!  Hopefully your pum pum is maintained, but much more important then maintenance is the cleanliness of your pum pum!

This is no joke people and I guess no one really talks about it; however a guy friend of mine (we’ll call him John to protect his identity), told me about an ex of his that had a stinky pum pum.  I know it sounds terrible and disturbing, but John being the forward man he is went out and bought his women powders, soaps and douches to help solve the problem.   Did they help??  The answer is “NO” they didn’t help per John.  What could it be then??  Lets take a look at a couple things every woman should & should NOT be doing to avoid such a dreadful condition of pum pum stink. Hi Hater!!

Got to put up some quick thoughts about people hatin’…..

You all know what I’m talking about: Girls HATIN’ on Girls. It gets vicious. Hatin’ is when you dislike someone because of your own jealousy. I bet you’ve been hated on before. I used to hate on people and people used to hate on me. As I get older, I have a better view on the subject. You get to a certain point in your life where you accept others for WHO THEY ARE! I really try to live by, “treat others as you would want to be treated.” We all make mistakes, but there is never a better time then NOW to start being more positive and confident in yourself.

Let me give you an example of something: Jill is a college graduate, volunteers with charities, has many friends, she has a nice figure and she wears revealing clothes. All the guys think she is hot, but she only has eyes for her boyfriend of 2 years. Now here comes Jane. Jane is not happy with her body, her boyfriend OR her job. Jane meets Jill through a mutual friend and after one look of Jill’s low cut shirt, Jane whispers to her boyfriend, “DID YOU SEE THAT WHORE?” Continue reading

GNO’s…A Must

GNO=Girl’s Night Out

Whether your single, dating, engaged, married, divorced, widowed, or a parent, you gotta keep up with your GNO’s. There was a time in my life where I did not value these gatherings with my girls and what a sad time this was.

I was insecure, lonely, & seclusive. I only worried about spending time with my ex becuase it was that “type” of relationship. In 2001 all of that changed. I was 20 years old and had gotten back in touch with some of my old friends from highschool (the very friends I write this blog with). While I had other GNO’s before, there was something about this year that changed me (for the better). Our first GNO was to Club One in a seedy area of Chicago. This night ended up being one of the most memorable nights of my life. We weren’t yet 21, but we are on a mission to look our best and dance our asses off! That we did. The club was like a highschool gym, but they played music we loved and we enjoyed the company of each other. By the end of the night we went back to Faby’s car and realized it had been broken into. The passenger side window was shattered and we had a long ride home. This disaster didn’t break our night. We were pissed and disappointed that it happened, but it didn’t deter us from planning the next GNO. This night was actually where it all began for me and it embedded such a priceless memory into my mind.

Here we are now, 8 years later. Since 2001 we have Continue reading
